Charlotte 49ers Director of Athletics Judy Rose announced the resignation of women's soccer coach Jon Lipsitz, who resigned to take the head coaching position at the University of Kentucky. Lipsitz leaves Charlotte after four seasons at the helm of the 49ers nationally-ranked women's soccer program.

Charlotte junior Hailey Beam, the 2008 Atlantic 10 Midfielder of the Year and the Most Outstanding Player of the Atlantic 10 Women's Soccer Championship the past two years, has been named to the NSCAA/adidas All-America third-team. Beam led the Conference and ranked among the nation's leaders with 17 goals, 13 assists and 47 points.
